Mongolia, an exceptional natural environment!
Kheeriin Camp welcomes you to the heart of a very special Mongolia, at the northernmost tip of the country, on the Siberian border. This is the province of Khövsgöl, which, bordering Russia, boasts a unique natural environment characteristic of the far north, as well as significant cultural diversity, marked by the cohabitation of several ethnic groups such as the Darhad, the Urianhai, the Buryats and the Tsataans, all of whom retain strong, authentic traditions.
This region of the "far north", where the taiga predominates and isolated smoking yurts often give way to pretty wooden isbas, is home to herds of yaks, horses and sheep grazing freely in these wild expanses, irrigated by magnificent rivers, in an unspoilt natural environment...
Fishing : All inclusive
Enjoy 8/10 days of fishing on the wild Üür Gol river, which rises in the heart of the deep red taiga, joins the Eg river and later merges into the Selenge river, Mongolia's largest, which in turn flows into Russia's famous Lake Baikal.
Fish for Lenok trout, Arctic grayling and, with a bit of luck, a Taïmen, Mongolia's mythical fish.
Try your hand at predators such as pike or perch, all in the marvellous, almost Siberian taiga landscape.

The Discovery :
The Naadam ... An ancestral celebration!
Naadam, or "game" in Mongolian, is Mongolia's biggest traditional event.
The games are held from July 11 to 13 to celebrate the anniversary of the Mongolian revolution of 1921. The Naadam is also known locally as "Eriin Gurvan Naadam", "the three manly sports", in reference to the three major competitions held on this occasion: Mongolian wrestling, horse racing and archery. Women can now take part in the archery events, and girls in the horse races. Wrestling, on the other hand, remains purely male. Another popular activity is bone-throwing, a game using sheep bones known as shagai, which serve both as game pieces and divination tokens.
It remains the most popular festival among Mongolians, having supposedly existed in one form or another for centuries. Its origins lie in the military activities of ancient times, when horsemanship, archery and wrestling were essential qualities for warriors. Men competed to see who was the best. These competitions were used to train soldiers for battle. Later, they were organized for various occasions, such as weddings and other religious gatherings.
Today, Naadam officially commemorates the 1921 revolution and Mongolian independence, as well as the advent of a new state. In its early years, Naadam was organized in conjunction with minor religious celebrations, until secularization in the 1930s. The three virile sports were then called "danshig" games, and were the occasion for a great feast for the new nation, where all the nobility gathered to celebrate Javzandamba Khutagt, the new head of state.
The nine yak tails of Genghis Khan, representing the nine Mongol tribes, are still solemnly carried from Genghis Khan Square to the Stadium at the opening of the Naadam festivities in Ulan Bator.
In 2010, Naadam was inscribed on UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
